Punctuation realities

An English professor wrote the words:

'A woman without her man is nothing'

on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.

All of the males in the class wrote:
'A woman, without her man , is nothing.'

All the females in the class wrote:
'A woman: without her , man is nothing.'

Isn't that interesting? I would have to agree with both statements. :)

I like the second statement the best! I'm still someone even without my man.

B.B. Thanks BB...it's an interesting play of word patterns. I fell in love with the English language in my forties...until then I just took it for granted. It's just amazing what one can do with words.

IowasHarleyGirl...and someone you are for sure. We are all the children of the universe no greater or lesser than anyone else.
you might want to check on "Desiderata"

Hey Baron...is that your BSA or just a photo of a motorcycle you dig? If it is yours what year? It's really cool! Wish the pix was larger!
