Chiloé

We had a great sunny Sunday exploring Isla Chiloé. Except we had not much
internet connectivity. I miss having the electricity to power Starlink.

Seems like a bad idea to me. I used to sky dive and I generally avoided even having keys in my pocket much less a bicycle strapped to me. But sky dive for a while and you will see a lot of crazy stuff. Paratroopers do jump with a lot of gear and their rifles though.
Interesting Idea, I never saw this before, and never heard it being used. Looks about WWII time and place.
Hmmm what will or what did they think of next LOL. I'd have a hard enough time without a bike being attached.
Kinda one of those ideas that only makes sense in war time lol..
Cheers,
Dave..
The Swiss army is using bikes. Heavy ones. I was driving one when I was in the army 40 years ago. There was never a need to parachute them. We also pushed them up (not by plane, but on foot) with the whole equipment on top of the mountains. Very heavy. But then we drove down full speed into the valleys. A great feeling.
Only an army man could dream this up.
Interesting. I never saw this before...
Danny..if you used to sky dive, then you know this is a bad idea...but apparently this weorked for the marines...me personall, I also sky dived ( the exhilarating 6 secs)and would think..it's not the jump that would scare me... it's sitting on this bike like a lame duck ready to be shot at
Missy..not sure if it was a good idea or not....unless they wrote poetry whilst being shot at...if you're parachuting into enemy combat zone, you're being shot at on the way down, unless by some miracle they got their intelligence all screwed up...who knows maybe they were just experimenting
Bill...I think you r right
Thom...next is a mini bus or foldale mini van
Dave,,,yeah I know...makes us riding ducks on the run....!
Peter...coming down full speed must've been exxhilirating
Dr. John...It's the divine that gave us the power to dream
Jarlin Paul...neither have I... I think it was a marine's unit exxperiment during WWII
There is a new military bike available that can be folded up and dropped by parachute.
We see that the brain trust here does not understand military airborne ops. The load is not attached to the troop on landing but is released just prior to landing so that it impacts first and separately. History: google "BSA airborne bicycle."
