Danny said...: Seems like a bad idea to me. I used to sky dive and I generally avoided even having keys in my pocket much less a bicycle strapped to me. But sky dive for a while and you will see a lot of crazy stuff. Paratroopers do jump with a lot of gear and their rifles though.; July 29, 2009 at 11:09 AM

Voegtli said...: The Swiss army is using bikes. Heavy ones. I was driving one when I was in the army 40 years ago. There was never a need to parachute them. We also pushed them up (not by plane, but on foot) with the whole equipment on top of the mountains. Very heavy. But then we drove down full speed into the valleys. Baron's Life said...: Danny..if you used to sky dive, then you know this is a bad idea...but apparently this weorked for the marines...me personall, I also sky dived ( the exhilarating 6 secs)and would think..it's not the jump that would scare me... it's sitting on this bike like a lame duck ready to be shot at; July 30, 2009 at 12:50 PM
Baron's Life said...: Missy..not sure if it was a good idea or not....unless they wrote poetry whilst being shot at...if you're parachuting into enemy combat zone, you're being shot at on the way down, unless by some miracle they got their intelligence all screwed up...who knows maybe they were just experimenting; July 30, 2009 at 5:28 PM
