2009 Touring Triumph...British Bike...

Did you know that Triumph's come back is so great that they are now making touring bikes...I sure didn't...

The Rocket III Touring is purposely designed and built to make it a great Custom Touring motorcycle.Suspension tuned to achieve high levels of comfort without compromising control, together with 180 mm rear tyre and 16 inch wheels make lighter handling. Wide sumptuous seat for both rider and passenger, footboards front and rear, colour matched water resistant hard cases and shrouded front forks with polished lower castings provide more comfort, practicality and style.
It’s all new from the rider’s point of view too with new tank mounted instruments, a quick detach screen, switchgear and rider controls including a new heel and toe gear shift.
Priced at £12,969 OTR for single colour and £13,119 OTR for the twin colour this is a machine that really does have the power to move you, your pillion and whatever you want to take, no matter how far you want to go.

Hi Baron,

Saw one of these (older model) last year on Rhodes island...very huge, very eye catching with that 2.3 litre inline 3.

Cheers

Dave..

My wife's step-father has been looking at one. Very nice machine. I like that they put the oil filter in a seasonable place too. Right on the front of the engine. Got lots of power too and plenty of accessories.

Touring means it's like for the highway and going long distance? Did Triumph stop selling for a while or did their sales just go down. The gear shift that is heel and toe...you would still use the clutch thing on the handlebar? Does this come in automatic as well? it's not the best looking one but it's okay. Looks squatty to me

Thom... you're right highway and long distance distance...it's not something you hop on to run to 7/11 for a soda...although you could...
Yes it has a clutch on the handle bar and you shift with your foot, breaking is done : rear by foot, front by hand on the right side of the handle bar
I've been having trouble posting on your blog...Did you change some sewtting?

Danny did you test ride one by any chance?

Dave...it should have been majestic I would imagine, eh?

Thom, forgot to answer the rest of the question...British Bikes used to be the thing to own, then late 70's they went down like a rock..couldn't compete with the Japs..Triumph =, like Harley Davidson, made a triumphant, surprising and huge come back

Baron, the Rocket III would be too heavy IMO, but I love the new Bonnies!

I haven't had a test ride on one. I have sat on it and it felt huge compared to the Savage. I have thought of looking at the Bonneville or the America.

Lance, I agree with you...I think it's needlely huge and a bit dated at that..I have almost (90%) made up my mind on the Electra...she handles well and easy to maneouvre
We'll see what the finance miniter (The wife) will say.

Danny both of your choice look good...but I've almost made up my mind , I'm buying American

You should look at the new Thunderbird:

Sixty years since the original Thunderbird, Triumph has once again combined intuitive handling, cool style and a rebellious attitude to create an immediate icon. The all new Thunderbird is a 1600cc twin cylinder cruiser that delivers an authentic riding experience in a uniquely Triumph package.

Buy British! (I don't....)

Hi,
Just last week, our family went to Port Dover, Ontario. I'm sure you've heard about bikers and this place! :)
