Well the Honda is pretty but the first one looks more like a man's machine.

I agree with Dr. John.

Dr. John, I am just trying to document how Honda evolved from having a meaningless bike to what they have today whereas we are lagging behind. We have eroded and destroyed our manufacturing base and we need to re-build it for future generations.

Thom, I agree with your agreement...lol

Love the Pan head but that seat has to go.

The top one's the one for me :) On the back of course!

Danny, agree on the seat.

Subrosa, One day if I make it up there I'll take you for a nice bike ride. Cheers

These posts are interesting Baron. Perhaps the fact that the US is in such a drastic downturn will force change as drastically. The changes you are showing were more gradual... interesting times and I am not sure that they are necessarily negative ones... for our children. For us, obviously a different story...

The seat has got to go..otherwise the HD is beautiful. As for the Honda, well, you meet the nicest people on a Honda. :)

beautiful bikes
I see more and more three wheelers on the road and with side cars and trailers

Dear Sir:

The lines of the Honda are easy to appreciate from the perspective of one who really likes old BMWs. However it is very difficult to compete with the timeless lines of an older Harley. Bet you dimes to donuts that the Honda will start on the second kick though.

Jack...I am sure they will..have you any doubts?

Baron, I see your trend of thought here, and it makes sense. Honda chose the smaller, less intimidating route to get more people interested in motorcycling, and possibly graduate up to bigger bikes (hopefully staying with Honda) while HD decided to start and stay big. I love HD's, but I think Honda had the better plan.

Lance, you're right, I'm trying to show how Honda evolved since 1951 whereas Harley is still doing the same thing...except for better drive, better electronics, etc...but essentially the bike is still the same
