1951 Harley Davidson...where are we today..does this tell you something..?

1951 Honda

OK this may not be a politically correct post for some of you out there...but in 1951 Harley D. had a beautiful looking riding iron horse and Honda had what looked like a motor cycle (Two words) made out of scrap metal in somebody's basement... but if we look at today's bikes...what do we see?...no comments here...an old Chinese proverb says..." A picture is worth a thousand words..." well OK then folks...what are we going to do about it...with so many jobs lost in Ohio, Detroit, Ontario and all over North America... and many more layoffs in the horizon...in spite of the so called stimulus "WONDER" packages.

Are we still going to sit idle and nod it all in while our governments try to remain politically correct and fight everybody else's wars for them.

Our working class is being laid off, our sons and daughters are fighting/sacrificing and losing their lives overseas.

The average family is losing their home while struggling to feed their kids...let alone trying to keep a roof over their heads...!!!

Don't you think we need to re-build our infrastructures so we can become more productive and above all provide jobs for our working folks....and future generations...Does Globalization seem to be a one way street to you ?

WE priced ourselves out of the world market and I"m not at all sure how to change that.

Dr. John, That's where you and all other North Americans are wrong. We did not price ourselves out of the world market...what world market was there?
We created, expanded and are now defending the world market that is now biting and fighting us. Cheers mate!

Baron, this is very thought-provoking. As you know, I have a Honda C70 Passport. This motorcycle, with its unassuming, even friendly look, changed the "tough" image of motorcyclists and made it a vehicle for everyone. The rest, as they say, is history - after 50 years, this bike is still the highest selling motorcycle in the world.

Hey Lance, yes it was meant to be a thought provoking post and my friend it looks like you were excited...lol I also do have in my stable a Honda 90 cub...so what..?
The question is where do we go from here? Your parents brought over to this country so you can have a better life as did mine, My question is do I really wanna be here...and the answer is yes I do.
Hey Lance, you, me the kids are all made of the same mold... we need to belong...!

That vintage bike is absolutely beautiful!

They are possibly closing down the GM plant in Luton here - so many people are going to be out of a job! It is crazy but at least we have unemployment benefit here.

I found Canada and US products are desired world wide. It is only because they don't exist anymore.

Ma and Pa stores is the answer.
Go back to basics, sell quality, and be proud of being North American.
Houses need to stop being a business and become real homes for families where people can dig in and build relationships, family, community, love. respect, honesty truth.
Then.... and only then...does the big picture become attractive.
