It's an awesome song now I'm gonna be thinking of it all day. I remember when this yellow ribbon all started. I think it was for our prisoners held captive in Lebanon wasn't it? Mighty fine gesture I remember
We are putting so many ribons of so many colors I can't remember what that one was for.
It was the Embassy hostages in Iran...I still remember it very well, cause the Canadian Ambassador in Iran at that time forged some Canadian passports for US citizens he knew in town that were not captured and gave them all Canadian passports and got them out..He was celebrated as a hero and he simply said, he thought nothing of it and would do it all over again...
You can read some of the story at this link if you like:

Love this song; it has always been my favorite due to the sentiment of the girl actually waiting.
I am an incurable romantic.;))
This probably makes me a geek but I always loved Tony Orlando and Dawn and especially this song.
Thanks! now I'm stuck with the song in my head,in fact.. everybody who comes to your blog will be singing it all week..did you do this on purpose? lol nice song though..
Thank you for the correction my friend. :) It was a great read in your link :)
Thom, It wasn't meant to be a correction at all..I simply answered your question...maybe I went beyond the call of duty on this one...lol
Rajesh,
Same thing...depends on what's available. Thanks for the visit
M.Kiwi...you inspired me on this one and it's still playing in my head...lol

Linda,
Its still humming in my head too...a good cure for me
Great song! I must confess I have Tony Orlando and Dawn's greatest hits on CD. I like "Who's in the Strawberry Patch with Sally." ;-) I am glad someone else had their song stuck in their head.
Trobairitz..it's still stuck in my Fr...head...can't get rid of it...goes to show good music never dies..or does it
This is a great song and I like the picture you got to go with it.
Thanks George
I remember of this old song which melody I liked a lot but the lyrics I wasn't able to understand. I was a young girl and my English was very bad. (well it's only bad now :-)). I like the photo;it goes great with the song.
