Before becoming a world most beautiful mosque - St Sofia was Eastern Orthodox church - the Turks just added the minarets :)

The title of your post says it all. Istanbul is "mon amour" too. I barely had arrived in this town, when its ambiance hit me fully. I spent one of the most extraordinary weeks of my life in Istanbul.

Ellievellie...you, NIKOS and I being of the same background and culture...we know the TURKS well...I am not too worried about what was, should have been or will be...Istanbul is still "mon amour" and will always be

Though you suggest it, and as you know, I am not a Canadian. But perhaps that fact that I sent my son 10 years ago to Montreal to make his professional pilot licence contributes to my "Canadian behaviour".

Peter...I Knew bloody well you were not Canadian just pulling your leg bud ....how did I know you had a Canadian connection?...so did he go to aviaition (Flying) school in St-Hubert?
That's where I lived....small world...
