1901 motorcycles....

The first one is a 1901 Indian prototype, the second one is also an Indian built between 1901 and 1909, the third bike is a Werner and the fourth a Minerva...Enjoy !

My Dad had a Bicycle with a Gasoline Motor attached. He loved it and told me the only time he used the motor was when he had to go up a steep hill or to rest his legs.

I'm in Paris right now...chock full of bikes out here. Even the city-issued Velib looks very vintage-y. Will try to capture interesting shots for you (if I'm fast enough)

The old Fart...They are great for climbing hills as your dad did. I have one also...a bicycle with a 49cc gas emgine on it. I bought the engine and installed it on the bike myself. It works great. I think I've seen your father's picture with it on your blog. It was a great machine.

The French were still making these things in the 70s - a brand called "Mobylette" if my alzheimers serves me correct.

Nikos, sadly the stopped production of the Mobylette in 2002..It was a great vehicle for city riding

This was the first motorcycle I ever rode at the age of 11 on the Greek island of Spetses!

Funny how I remember such things...

was looking for any information on a bike that was called a haflinger, was only in production in 1901. Any info and pics would be great.
